After the investigation is completed, the man from Vidalia, who is accused of secretly filming teenagers, faces further charges

VIDALIA, Louisiana (KNOE) – The investigation into Joshua Smith, a 40-year-old Vidalia man accused of secretly filming minors, has been completed.

In a Facebook post, CPSO officials stated, among other things: “During the course of the investigation, investigators found child pornography and other voyeurism videos on several electronic devices. They all show underage females in the restroom and date from 2019.”

Investigators identified six juvenile victims, four of whom had been sexually abused by Smith.

This comes after the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office Cybercrime Unit began its investigation on August 9.

Investigators were able to identify Smith as a suspect after submitting search warrants to electronic service providers and authenticating the videos.

On August 14, officers arrested Smith and executed a search warrant on his home. During the search, they seized an electronic device containing videos of child sexual abuse.

In late August, the CPSO announced that it had found additional juveniles that Smith had secretly filmed, as well as victims who had been sexually abused.
