Farmer ends his life at Medchal Malkajgiri agriculture office over crop loan issues – Telangana Today

Hyderabad: Angry over the apathy of the authorities in repaying his crop loan, farmer Surender Reddy reportedly committed suicide on Friday at the Agriculture Office premises in Medchal Malkajgiri.

The incident took place after Surender Reddy went from pillar to post to get the state government's promised repayment of his crop loan. However, despite repeated appeals to the authorities, the 52-year-old farmer could not get his loan waived.


On Friday, Surender Reddy, a resident of Dubbak, arrived at the Agriculture Department in Medchal and died by hanging himself from a tree in the office premises. He was a resident of Medchal.

After locals alerted the Medchal police, a team reportedly reached the spot and registered a case.
