“I get paid to do this shit” – Footage shows UFC legend Israel Adesanya apparently spitting on a man during a road rage incident

A video has surfaced showing Israel Adesanya apparently spitting at a driver during an incident of road rage.

“The Last Style Bender” recently returned to New Zealand after defeating middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia last month.

Adesanya was unable to regain the 185-pound crown after being submitted via face crank submission in the fourth round.

Three weeks after the brawl, footage was uploaded to social media showing Adesanya getting into a heated argument with a passerby.

Adesanya can be heard standing next to his black McLaren 720S Spider, shouting to a person in a hoodie and shorts: “I get paid to do this shit, fuck off.”

Adesanya then gives the other driver the middle finger and calls him a “bitch” as he opens the car door.

The MMA star becomes increasingly angry as the man takes a step toward him and fires back inaudible verbal attacks.

Adesnaya then tells the passerby to “go away” and “drive his beat-up shit,” referring to his car.

But the man stands his ground and begins to flex his biceps as Adesanya screams, “I pray you try me,” and then pretends to spit on him.

The person filming the incident drives off as Adesanya slams the car door, so it's unclear what happens next.

The incident came after Adesanya escaped a drunken driving conviction earlier this year.

The 35-year-old was charged in August 2023 for driving on Wellesley Street in central Auckland with an alcohol content of 87 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.

For reference: In New Zealand the legal limit is 50 milligrams.

Because of his interpretation, he risked a prison sentence of up to three months.

But Adesanya got away with a six-month driving ban and a $1,500 fine to a drunk driving charity.

At the time, Adesanya released a statement saying: “I would like to apologize to the community, my family and my team for my decision to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol at dinner.

“I was stopped and had to do a blood test – the value was 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.

“I am disappointed with my decision to drive. It was wrong.”

“I know people might follow me and I want them to know that I do not consider this behavior acceptable.”

At the time of writing, Adesanya had not yet commented on his controversy over road aggression.
