PlayStation 5 Pro will be announced next week; State of Play with the first party games will be released on September 19/20

According to rumors circulating on the Internet, the PlayStation 5 Pro will be unveiled early next week.

Lunatic Ignus, who has proven himself to be a somewhat reliable leaker in recent months, including correctly revealing May's State of Play and Black Myth: Wukong expansions ahead of official announcements, revealed on his Discord server today that Sony's mid-generation refresh system will be revealed next week, possibly on Tuesday or Wednesday. The console reveal will be followed by a State of Play presentation later in the month that will include first-party games and possibly a “world premiere,” though there's a chance that premiere could be set for this year's The Game Awards in December.

Although the timing of the reveal is still unknown, there is little doubt that Sony is gearing up to release the PlayStation 5 Pro. Last week, well-known leaker billbil-kun revealed that they had managed to get a glimpse of the system's packaging and published a sketch showing the new system's design. During Gamescom last month, the developers also spoke openly about the system, so at this point, it's only a matter of time when the console will be revealed and released.

Although the original system was released in two different editions, there is a good chance that only a digital edition of the PlayStation 5 Pro will be released. This would help Sony keep the price down, as the Japanese company seems to be struggling to contain production costs, as evidenced by the recent price increase of the base model in Japan.
