Sunny and warm in the Bronx on Friday; rain forecast for Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a rip current warning that calls for a high risk of rip currents on Atlantic beaches through Friday evening.

SUNNY FRIDAY LEADS TO A RAINY SATURDAY

Another pleasant night is in store, with lows below 15 degrees and a light breeze from the east. The easterly wind will bring some clouds after midnight and some fog is expected until rush hour on Friday morning.

The sun will return in the late morning and the afternoon will be sunny again, with temperatures above 25 degrees. Humidity will be a little higher and will continue to rise through Friday night. Showers will linger into Saturday morning, but it will be a cloudy and gloomy day.

The greatest chance for gusty showers will be between 1 and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Once the rain stops, it will clear quickly, and a fresh breeze will bring the coldest air of the season so far on Saturday night. Lows will drop to around 10 degrees by Sunday morning, feeling colder with gusts up to 20 mph.

Sunday will be cool but sunny. Next week, summer weather will return quickly, and in less than a week temperatures will be back above 30 degrees.
