Content creator Dr Disrespect is on the verge of making a comeback, as a new Twitter post and the departure of a long-time editor could mean a change in content.

In June, Guy Beahm, better known as streamer personality Dr Disrespect, admitted inappropriate conversation with a minor and immediately went on vacation after his monetization on YouTube was stopped.

Six weeks later, he confirmed he would return to streaming, but did not specify when, where, or what type of content he would create.

This week, Dr Disrespect shed more light on the situation, saying that he was back from holiday but that streaming his usual video games may not be part of his plans, apparently because one of his key staff had left the channel.

“Relaxing in the Lamborghini with the windows rolled down… back from holiday,” Dr Disrespect recently tweeted.

He also seemed to consider replacing video games with other content, saying:

“Are people still streaming video games? So boring.”

This comes at the same time that one of its long-time video editors, known to Dr Disrespect viewers as “Alex”, has left the channel.

“Despite all the drama and chaos of the last few months, I am still extremely proud of the work I have done, but for me it is time to move on,” he said on Twitter.

Alex then thanked the others he worked with during that time, but left the streamer out of his farewell message, despite having worked for Dr Disrespect for six years.

The editor has not elaborated on why he is leaving the channel, but it supports the assumption that Dr Disrespect is planning changes upon his return.

Another uncertainty surrounding Dr Disrespect's comeback is which platform he will use, as his monetization on YouTube was halted and he was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020 when the inappropriate messages first came to light.

In addition to video games, Dr Disrespect's YouTube channel also includes content on golf and American football, so a focus on sports would be an option.

Whatever it is, it will be interesting to see if he is received with the same enthusiasm as at the beginning of his career, after losing tens of thousands of followers – many of them referred to as “brainwashing”.

While it's not yet known if and when we'll start streaming again, there will undoubtedly be more teasers and announcements on Twitter first.
