Stuart Hogg makes his debut at the Top 14 opener in Montpellier

He was expected to miss the early stages of the season due to a calf injury, but he has returned quicker than expected and will start tomorrow wearing the number 15 jersey.

Hogg has had a turbulent year since announcing his retirement from football, revealing in April that he had spent time in a rehabilitation centre.

The 32-year-old's retirement has been plagued by off-field issues. He will face trial on domestic violence charges next month after previously pleading not guilty to three charges involving his estranged wife.

Meanwhile, Jonny Gray could make his long-awaited comeback from injury and debut in the season opening game for Bordeaux Begles.

The Scottish international, who has not played since injuring his knee before last year's World Cup, is on the bench for last season's losing finalists as they host Stade Francais.

Defending champions Toulouse – whose squad includes Blair Kinghorn, Hogg's replacement as Scottish full-back – start their season against Vannes in Sundau.
