Janelle Brown of Sister Wives says it still doesn't look like her son Garrison is “gone” 6 months after his death

The 25-year-old was found dead on March 5 after an apparent suicide, PEOPLE confirmed

Janelle and Garrison Brown

Janelle Brown pays tribute to her late son Garrison six months after his death.

On March 5, the 25-year-old was found dead, apparently after committing suicide, as PEOPLE confirmed at the time. Sisterwives The star is now reflecting on his loss with a touching Instagram post from September 5th.

“6 months ago today you left. You pop up in my photo memories almost every day,” Janelle, 55, began her tribute as she shared a photo of her son hugging her and kissing her on the cheek. “Sometimes it doesn't even seem like you're gone. And then I remember not getting a call or text from you and it all comes flooding back. I know you fought hard but in the end you just couldn't stay.”

“I love you so much and will see you again when my journey is over,” she concluded her post.

Janelle and Kody Brown, Garrison's father, confirmed his death in a statement on Instagram. They wrote: “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our wonderful boy, Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him. His loss will leave such a huge hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Besides Garrison, the ex-partners have sons Logan (29), Hunter (27) and Gabriel (22) as well as daughters Madison (27) and Savanah (19).

Following Garrison's death, many members of his family paid tribute to him on social media, including Janelle's former sister wives Christine Brown and Meri Brown, as well as several of his siblings.

In June, Meri, 53, spoke about how the family is coping with the loss. Miss Understood PodcastAs she admitted, “There are good days and bad days.”

“There are still moments when I see a picture of Garrison and think, 'Oh, I don't like that happened. It's really sad,'” she continued. “I feel so much for Janelle. I watched my mother lose two of her own children before she died. It's tragic.”

Later that month, Meri shared another update with her fans, explaining that the family had reunited following Garrison's death.

“We definitely had our moments of being together as a family and celebrating Garrison's life, and those moments were good and it was cool to reconnect with different people that you might not see all the time,” she said on The Sarah Fraser Show. “Because we are now scattered all over the place and even the older children have been on the move for many years and are living their lives.”

Meri continued, “It's nice to get back together and see each other, and I think there's been a little bit of healing in some of the relationships that I've seen. It's kind of cool to see that.”

The rifts Meri was referring to are largely due to her, Janelle and Christine's separation from their husband Kody, who no longer practices polygamy but remains married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.

Janelle and Kody's split was announced in December 2022, just over a year after Christine made her split from the patriarch public after 25 years of marriage. Meri confirmed her and Kody's split around the same time.
