Innocent behind bars – TV show crime and investigation

In 1983, Dennis Maher was stopped on the street by police – he looked like a suspect who had previously raped two women that same night and the night before. Dennis was taken into police custody, charged with a third rape, and identified by all three victims as the rapist. He was sentenced to life in prison. However, Dennis was innocent, and he knew that DNA evidence could prove it. He contacted the New England Innocence Project, which took on his case and requested that the evidence be examined.
