In contrast to other elegantly simple SFF cases, Acer's Predator Gaming Case MI900 makes no secret of its purpose: it's about brutal gaming computers, not understatement, which is underlined by the sci-fi look. The structure is roughly based on the DAN Cases SFX-A4 (test).

The Predator Gaming Case MI900 is behind the company's Orion-X complete computers, but is also available separately. Compared to the ready-to-use PC version, it lacks the headphone holder on the top and the glass element on the front. In addition, the MI900 is not completely black, but is only available in two colors.

Sandwich layout

The components are stored in the small case with a capacity of around 15 liters in a sandwich layout. This is intended to create different cooling zones. The mainboard and CPU cooler are therefore on the right side of the case. If an air cooler is used, it can be a maximum of 41 millimeters high and can then draw air directly through the side panel. However, the height restriction significantly reduces the selection with the DAN A4; much more than a Noctua NH-L9 does not fit. However, the structure is also intended for the use of an AiO cooler with a 240 mm radiator. This fits under the lid of the MI900 together with two 120 mm fans and is intended to remove air from the case.

The width of the fan also allows the exhaust air from the graphics card to be removed. There are three slots available for this in width and 310 millimeters in length. Since the GPU is placed behind the mainboard using a riser cable and rotated by 90 degrees, its fan can also supply itself with fresh air directly via the side panel.

Power supply and hard drives on the edge

The power supply is located at the front next to the motherboard and releases air downwards from the chassis. As is usual in this segment, an SFX or SFX-L model must be used. Air is also sucked in here via the side panel and the mesh grilles located there. Two 2.5″ hard drives can be accommodated on the bottom of the case.

The MI900's other features include RGB elements on the front and a USB 3.0 port with C and A connectors. There is also an audio jack on the front.

The Predator Gaming Case MI900 is currently available in stores for prices starting at around 155 euros ex stock.
