Sunil Chhetri gives the football to the fans in the stands with a precise long pass

The legendary Sunil Chhetri gave a Bengaluru FC fan great joy at the Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday, September 7. Chhetri, who was training with the Bengaluru team ahead of the new season of the Indian Super League, heard a fan screaming in the stands. The fan asked Chhetri to pass him the ball and to his great surprise, Chhetri obliged.

Chhetri, the former captain of the Indian national team and the highest goal scorer in the history of the Indian football team, found the fan in the second row of the stands with a stunning long pass. The incident was filmed by a person in the stands of the Kanteerava Stadium. The entire incident was narrated by Anand on social media and the video of the incident was uploaded by Rishab Pavithran in the same thread.

Chhetri's passing ability is nothing new. Since the retirement of Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri has been India's outstanding footballer. The legendary captain finally ended his career in international football in 2024 at the age of 40.

Despite his retirement from the national team, Chhetri is expected to continue his football career with Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League in the coming years. After finishing second last season, Chhetri-led BFC finished a disappointing 10th place in the recently concluded 2023-2024 ISL season. Chhetri scored a total of 5 goals and provided 3 assists this season, meaning the veteran is far from over with his football career.
