Cleveland murder suspect arrested in Sandusky on Thursday: US Marshals

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) – A Cleveland murder suspect was arrested Thursday in Sandusky, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Le'ceeonna White, 21, wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder, was arrested early Thursday afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF).

According to authorities, on July 13, 2024, a man was shot in the back while trying to flee from White.

According to police, the incident occurred in apartments near the 2300 block of East 30th Street in Cleveland.

According to the U.S. Marshals' statement, the man later died from the gunshot wound; White was identified as the man involved in the shooting.

On Thursday, members of the U.S. Marshall's Violent Fugitive Task Force tracked down White at an apartment in the 400 block of E. Adams Street in Sandusky, Ohio.

White was then arrested without incident and taken to Cleveland Police. After the arrest, a search warrant was executed for the residence and a gun was seized, police said.

“Another outstanding investigation by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit resulted in a successful arrest today. The great cooperation between our task force and the Cleveland Division of Police results in violent fugitives being taken off the streets,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
