A woman from Plainfield is killed in an accident in Bethel, her passenger is taken to hospital

BETHEL – A Plainfield woman died and a passenger suffered minor injuries in a car crash early Saturday morning, Vermont State Police said.

Lindsay A. Holt, 41, was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra north on I-89 when the truck left the road at mile marker 26.2 and struck a tree in the median at about 5:34 a.m.

Holt, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.

Her passenger, Justin L. Jeror, 45, of Enfield, New Hampshire, who was also wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Gifford Medical Center in Randolph for treatment.

The incident occurred under cloudy and dark conditions; however, the road was dry at the time of the accident.

Officers from the Vermont State Police – Royalton Barracks responded to the accident along with emergency personnel.

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office, White River Valley Ambulance and East Randolph Fire Department responded to the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the accident.
