Vulkaneifel: Truck driver (89) overlooks motorcycle

An 89-year-old truck driver from the Gerolstein municipality was driving his truck on the B257 from Weidenbach towards Wallenborn. At the junction with the L29, he intended to turn off towards Salm. He probably overlooked the oncoming 26-year-old motorcyclist from the Daun municipality who had right of way. A head-on collision occurred in which the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries.Due to his injuries, he was flown to a nearby hospital. The occupants of the truck were uninjured.
