Andrew Garfield responded to We live in times famous horse that led to a viral meme trend on the internet.

Garfield, who stars in the film alongside Florence Pugh, recently appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival.

As The Amazing Spiderman When asked about the meme during a conversation with CTV's Etalk on the TIFF red carpet, the actor jokingly thanked the viral trend for drawing people's attention to his film.

“Thank you for mentioning the horse,” he said. “I haven't heard from him since the day we filmed, but I pray he shows up again. [at the premiere] for without him we are truly nothing.”

He continued, “Yeah, nobody would know this movie if it weren't for that damn horse.”

Garfield and Pugh portray a married couple who are confronted with devastating news that completely changes their world.

The film premiered at TIFF on Friday and will screen over three days at the BFI London Film Festival next month before being released in general theaters on New Year's Day.

The viral meme started with the film's promotional poster, which showed the two actors riding a carousel, but the horse's hilarious and strange facial expressions seemed to attract the most attention.

The horse's silly facial expression and its enormous size in the image made it seem out of place and distracting rather than part of the image, allowing for the birth of a new meme template.
