Early Fight Week Odds for the O'Malley vs. Dvalishvili Fight Card

The UFC 306 fight card is upon us. The ESPN+ pay-per-view card takes place on Saturday, September 14, at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley takes on top-ranked Merab Dvalishvili in the main event.

In the co-main event of the event, also known as Noche UFC, current UFC women's flyweight champion Alexa Grasso will face former champion Valentina Shevchenko in a trilogy fight.

Also on the main card: Rising featherweight Diego Lopes faces former UFC title challenger Brian Ortega in a fight originally scheduled to take place at UFC 303.

O'Malley (18-1-0-1) won the UFC bantamweight crown with a second-round TKO over Aljamain Sterling in August 2023. In his first title defense, O'Malley avenged his only career loss, a TKO loss in August 2020, with a decision victory over Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 299.

Dvalishvili (17-4) lost his first two UFC fights. Since then, he has been perfect, with a 10-0 record. His last three wins, all decisions, have come against former UFC champions Jose Aldo, Petr Yan and Henry Cejudo. Dvalishvili is a training partner of Sterling.

Grasso (16-3-1) took the UFC women's title from Shevchenko (23-4-1) by submission in March 2023. Shevchenko had defended the title seven times before this setback. The two met in a rematch in September 2023. That contest ended in a draw. The trilogy fight will take place on Saturday at UFC 306.

Ortega (16-3-0-1) was scheduled to face Lopes (25-6) at UFC 303 in June. Due to weight concerns, Ortega had to request to move the fight from featherweight to lightweight a day before the weigh-in. Lopes accepted and the pair were weighed in. However, Ortega dropped out on the day of the fight and withdrew from the contest. Lopes remained on the card and accepted a last-minute fight against Dan Ige in the 165-pound division. Lopes won that fight by decision.

Ortega is the No. 3 fighter in the official UFC featherweight rankings, while Lopes is ranked 12th.
