Where is Julie Chrisley? Fans speculate where the disgraced reality TV star is after the prison says she is 'not in their custody'

Fans are asking about the whereabouts of famous reality TV star Julie Chrisley after the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) announced that she is no longer in its custody.

The discovery was made last week when a Reddit user posted a screenshot from the agency's website showing that the former Atlanta resident – who was found guilty of financial crimes alongside her husband Todd in 2022 – was no longer “in the custody of the BOP.”

This statement remains valid after the US Marshals Service announced on Thursday that the 51-year-old was in its custody awaiting resentencing in federal court.

The agency handles the transportation of federal prisoners, but their whereabouts are unknown. There is a federal prison transfer facility in Atlanta, Georgia, and Chrisley is due in court on September 25.

It remains unclear why the BOP removed custody of the “Chrisley Knows Best” star so early and refused to release location information for safety or privacy reasons.

“Incarcerated individuals who were previously in FBOP custody and have not yet completed their sentence may remain outside FBOP custody for a period of time for court hearings, medical treatment or other reasons,” a spokesperson said.

According to the FBI's inmate search, the convicted fraudster's death date is still May 7, 2028.

Her location has been listed as “Not in BOP custody” since Sunday morning.

Daughter Savannah, who starred alongside her incarcerated parents and recently appeared at the RNC, spoke about the couple's criminal case on her podcast Tuesday but did not mention her mother's whereabouts.

In a July episode, she revealed that the heat in Julie's Kentucky prison caused her mother to become “physically ill.”

“Thank God there is air conditioning in the visiting room,” Savannah said of the alleged detention conditions at the FMC (Federal Medical Center) in Lexington.

“But outside the visiting room there is no air conditioning at all.”

“The heat index was 105, 110 and that's the kind of conditions that mom lives in – that kind of conditions and without any air conditioning.”

“And in the building itself it can reach up to 38 degrees,” the 27-year-old continued.

“She literally said she felt physically sick because she was so hot.

“So there are these women who suffer from heat exhaustion and pass out. And yet there are service dogs that have air conditioning,” Savannah said.

“It all makes no sense to me.”

“It's so inhumane that you can't imagine it. And it's hard.”

She made the comments just days before her appearance at the RNC in Milwaukee, where she sharply criticized the Biden administration for the imprisonment of her parents, adding, “Mom is really looking forward to the visit because she got to be in an air-conditioned room.”

“It makes me realize how much we take for granted.”

In a July episode, she revealed how the heat in Julie's Kentucky prison – seen here – had caused her mother to become “physically ill.” She was incarcerated at FMC (Federal Medical Center) in Lexington after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022.

In June, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Julie's conviction because there was insufficient evidence to link her to financial crimes that federal authorities said she committed before 2007.

The court nevertheless upheld the lower court's guilty verdict against the party, paving the way for Julie to be retried by the lower courts this month.

Patriarch Todd, meanwhile, still has to serve his ten-year prison sentence for defrauding banks with fraudulent loans and conspiracy to defraud the IRS, which ends in January 2033.

At the time of writing, no retrial is planned against him.

Both made a name for themselves with the series “Chrisley Knows Best,” which premiered in 2014.

It was about Todd, a self-made millionaire from Atlanta, and his family's various exploits.

It ended abruptly in 2023 after the couple was convicted following an in-depth investigation by the Department of Justice.

Julie's hearing is still scheduled for September 25, when she will be given a new sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion.
