Is Keenan Allen playing today? (Latest injury update, impact of prop bets on Titans

Chicago Bears star receiver Keenan Allen is questionable for Sunday's Week 1 NFL game against the Tennessee Titans, but he is expected to play, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This is great news for the Bears, who are looking to surround rookie quarterback Caleb Williams with a strong receiver corps in his first NFL season.

Acquired from the Los Angeles Chargers in a trade last season, Allen is one of the league's best receivers when healthy, but he's getting older. The bookies assigned him some interesting prop lines in Week 1, but now that we know he's playing, we can take advantage.

Based on these predictions, bookmakers expect Allen to act as the second receiver behind DJ Moore in Chicago's offense.

He and Moore both have 4.5 reception props (Moores is heavily in the OVER range), while rookie Rome Odunze has just 3.5 receptions. Additionally, Allen has a receiving yards prop that is higher than Odunze's (41.5) but lower than Moore's (59.5).

Allen's performance will depend heavily on how well Williams plays on Sunday, but I expect him to make an impact against the Titans.

The veteran receiver is usually a pass-eater, catching five or more balls in 11 of last season's 13 games. It's unclear if Allen will play the same role as a chain player he did in Los Angeles, but I could see him making his position clear on pass catches on Sunday, especially if Williams gets into a rhythm early.
