Bison linebacker arrested after shooting at North Fargo party – Grand Forks Herald

FARGO – Hours after playing his first football game for North Dakota State University, 19-year-old Jaiden Pickett was arrested on multiple charges following a shooting at a house party and booked into the Cass County Jail early Sunday.

A Fargo police news release said officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of 11th Street North just before 1 a.m. for a report of gunshots Sunday morning. The investigation revealed that an argument had broken out between partygoers outside, resulting in a shot being fired into the home, but no one was injured.

Pickett, a redshirt freshman linebacker from Milwaukee, was arrested in connection with the shooting and sentenced to prison on three felony counts: terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment, extreme indifference in the handling of a dangerous weapon and theft of a weapon – possession of a firearm.

Pickett did not play in the first game of the season against Colorado, but was part of NDSU's clear win over Tennessee State on Saturday.

Fargo police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Bisons head coach Tim Polasek declined to comment pending further information, citing the ongoing investigation. An NDSU spokesperson confirmed that Pickett is a “student-athlete” at the school, but referred all further questions to Fargo police.
