The details of Tyreek Hill's pre-game conflict are alarming to say the least

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was handcuffed on the way to Hard Rock Stadium for the Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hill reportedly ended up receiving a reckless driving citation, but the scene was alarming.

Hill is expected to play despite his pregame drama. The Dolphins' star wide receiver reportedly got into an argument or altercation with a police officer, which led to him being handcuffed on the sidewalk. Eventually, Hill and the officers resolved their differences and he was released. The Dolphins released a statement on the matter this morning.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was stopped for a traffic accident approximately one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer assistance. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today's game.”

When the breaking news broke, NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Rich Eisen were completely taken aback. According to Rapoport, “Hill was thrown to the ground and handcuffed for five minutes…”

The facts are unclear at this time and I will not add anything to what has already been reported. Nevertheless, the thought that Hill was physically harmed by a police officer is disturbing to say the least. Miami police have not yet released their version of events, but they surely will, as Hill is a public figure.

On the field, Hill is one of the NFL's best wide receivers. Had Tyreek missed Week 1 against Jacksonville, the Dolphins likely would have still had the advantage. Their offense is loaded with playmakers, including Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. Fortunately, Tua Tagovailoa's favorite target will be healthy despite Hill's morning traffic accident.
