The UFC opened its September schedule on Saturday with UFC Fight Night 242 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and the main event featured a new welterweight challenger.

Sean Brady (17-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) showed he is capable of beating a proven former title challenger when he outboxed Gilbert Burns (22-8 MMA, 15-8 UFC) by unanimous decision in the main event, setting several personal records in the process.

Brady has won four of his seven UFC victories by decision.

Burns' three-fight losing streak is the longest of his career. He hasn't won since April 2023.

Burns fell to 3-5 in his last eight fights since February 2021.

Burns fell to 7-5 since returning to welterweight in August 2019.

Burns suffered five of his eight career losses by decision.

Natalia Silva defeats Jessica Andrade

Silva's (18-5-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) six-fight UFC winning streak in the women's flyweight division is tied with Maycee Barber for the second-longest active winning streak in the division behind Manon Fiorot (seven).

Silva has won four of her six UFC victories by decision.

Andrade (26-13 MMA, 17-11 UFC) received her 11th fight night bonus in a UFC contest, more than any other fighter in company history.

Steve Garcia defeats Kyle Nelson

Garcia (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has won all 14 of his career by knockout, including all six of his UFC victories.

Garcia's five-fight knockout streak is the fourth-longest in UFC history.

Garcia's five-fight UFC stoppage streak is tied with Joanderson Brito and Carlos Ulberg for the second-longest among active fighters on the team, behind Shavkat Rakhmonov (six).

Kyle Nelson (16-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) suffered four of his five UFC losses by stoppage.

Cody Durden defeats Matt Schnell

Durden (17-6-1 MMA, 6-4-1 UFC) has won 12 of his 17 career victories by stoppage.

Matt Schnell (16-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) suffered eight of his nine career losses by stoppage.

Yanal Ashmouz defeated. Trevor Peek

Yanal Ashmouz (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has won both of his UFC victories by knockout.

Trevor Peek (9-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by decision.

Chris Padilla defeats Rong Zhu

Chris Padilla (15-6 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has won 13 of his 15 career victories by stoppage.

Rong Zhu (25-6 MMA, 1-3 UFC) has suffered five of his six career losses by stoppage.

Zhu suffered the first KO loss of his career via TKO caused by a doctor stoppage.

Isaac Dulgarian defeated Brendon Marotte

Isaac Dulgarian (7-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has won all seven of his career by stoppage.

Brendon Marotte (8-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Jaqueline Amorim defeated. Vanessa Demopoulos

Jaqueline Amorim (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) has won all nine of her career victories by stoppage. Seven of those victories have come by submission.

Vanessa Demopoulos (11-6 MMA, 5-3 UFC) suffered the first stoppage defeat of her career with a submission loss.

Nathan Fletcher defeated. Zygimantas Ramaska

Nathan Fletcher (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has won eight of his nine career victories by stoppage.

Zygimantas Ramaska ​​​​(9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered two of his three career losses by stoppage.

Ramaska ​​​​suffered the first defeat by giving up his career.
