Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is expected to be healthy after leaving the team in the third quarter of Sunday's 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns with a knee injury.

Ferguson left the game after catching a 2-yard pass with 6:11 left in the third quarter. He attempted to evade a tackle but landed awkwardly on his left leg and then needed trainers to help him leave the field.

After the game, NFL Network reported that initial tests did not show a torn ACL and X-rays were negative. Ferguson will have an MRI on Monday.

“I think we avoided a big mistake,” Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott said of the severity of Ferguson's injury.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Ferguson was optimistic after the win and still able to act.

Ferguson, 25, had three catches for 15 yards on Sunday.

In 17 games (16 starts) last season, Ferguson had 71 pass catches for 761 yards and five touchdowns.
