Elderly man killed in Apache Junction murder; suspect arrested

PHOENIX – A man was killed in a murder in Apache Junction on Sunday afternoon and a suspect was arrested, police said.

On September 8th at around 4:30 p.m., Apache Junction Police received a call about a man walking near Apache Trail and Ironwood Drive.

The suspect was arrested nearby. Police say this was an isolated incident and had nothing to do with domestic violence.

The victim has not been identified but is said to be an elderly man.

Police did not provide any further details about the man's cause of death.
