2 children charged with school shooting threats. Several schools in New Jersey closed.

A second school district in Gloucester County has announced it will remain closed Monday due to threats. In a nearby town, police said two teens were arrested for threatening a school in their town.

Glassboro police said late Sunday that the teens are from Woodbury and Glassboro. The threat was posted on Instagram about Bowe Middle School in Glassboro.

The four schools in Deptford will remain closed on Monday “out of an abundance of caution and to protect our entire Deptford Spartan community,” Superintendent Kevin Kanauss said in a letter Sunday evening.

Classes in neighboring Woodbury were canceled Monday, officials said, adding that school officials did not believe the threat was justified.

Haddon Heights officials also confirmed a threat against a district school and said a juvenile was in custody. It was not immediately clear if the juvenile was one of those accused in Glassboro.

“The Camden and Gloucester County District Attorneys are working together to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter,” said Carla E. Bittner, Haddon Heights Superintendent. “The threat, which was posted anonymously on social media, targeted five schools in two different districts. One juvenile is currently in custody in connection with this post.”
