Police arrest dozens after Croatia-Poland football match

Croatian police have arrested dozens of football fans for fighting following the UEFA Nations League match between Croatia and Poland, the country's Interior Ministry said on Monday.

It said that following Sunday's match in the eastern Polish city of Osijek, in which Croatia beat Poland 1-0, dozens of Polish fans attacked Croatian supporters and there were clashes with police.

Later, there was another fight between Polish and Croatian fans elsewhere, it was reported, but without giving any details about the location.

“Dozens of people have been arrested and criminal investigations are ongoing,” the ministry said on social media.

The authorities did not provide any information on the exact number of Polish nationals arrested.

In addition, at least five fans were arrested in Osijek before the Group A1 match for a brawl in which a Polish citizen was injured.
