Galamsey battle: politicians must come clean – Kokofu | Politics

Henry Kwabena Kokofu, former chairman of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has called on his fellow politicians not to promote illegal mining in Ghana.

The member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) spoke on Peace FMs The show “Kokrokoo” called on everyone interested in the mining business to engage in mining responsibly.

He called for an end to illegal mining, popularly known as “galamsey”, stressing that those who mine responsibly do not touch the waters.

Henry Kokofu urged politicians not to further stimulate the Galamseyers.

“We politicians have to come clean. While you are working hard to stop this, your colleagues will be egging you on and saying: I will let you continue like this if you vote for me.” he explained.
