Carolina Panthers' best defender suffers knee injury that may end season

If Carolina Panthers fans have learned anything over the past few years, it's that no matter how bad things look, things can always get worse. Yesterday's 37-point loss to the New Orleans Saints was disheartening enough, but now the team also has to deal with a potentially season-ending injury to their best defender.

According to a report by Tom Pelissero on NFL Network, Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown suffered a meniscus injury in the team's season opener yesterday that will require surgery and could sideline him for the remainder of the season.

This is another major blow to a fan base that has suffered more than any other in the NFL since David Tepper bought the team in July 2018. Their run defense was already pretty weak against the Saints yesterday, but without Brown, expect opponents to ram the ball down Carolina's throat at will.
