Nigeria: Tinubu expresses condolences to families of tanker explosion victims

President Tinubu commended the federal and state disaster management agencies for their swift response to the tragic incident.

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Niger State over the tanker explosion on Sunday on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road which claimed the lives of 48 people and livestock.

According to the Niger Civil Protection Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), many people were injured in the accident, which also involved a truck loaded with livestock and passengers.

President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and injured. He also expressed his sympathy to the owners of the shops affected by the tragedy.

He prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.

The President praised the federal and state disaster management agencies for their swift response. He also praised the helpful Nigerians who rushed to the scene of the accident to assist the victims.

He promised to continue to support efforts to help those affected.

President Tinubu has directed federal transport and road infrastructure agencies to redouble their efforts and work with state governments to improve the safety of travellers and residents.
