The investigators don’t give up.

After more than three decades, the Bonn police are taking another look at two unsolved criminal cases. Both will be presented on Wednesday (September 10) in the ZDF program Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst. The police are hoping for tips from the public.

Dead infant discovered on the banks of the Rhine in Bonn

Among other things, the police want to clarify the discovery of a dead infant on December 10, 1987. A walker discovered a black cloth bag on the banks of the Rhine in Bonn, which contained blood-stained towels and the body of a newborn child.

During the autopsy, forensic experts later determined that the infant had died as a result of external influences. Investigations at the time into women who were pregnant but could not provide evidence of giving birth were unsuccessful. The police are now looking for information about a woman who gave birth without external assistance in the fall or winter of 1987.

The Claudia Wilbert case on Aktenzeichen XY

The second case concerns the death of Claudia Wilbert, then 17 years old, whose body was found by walkers in a parking lot near Bad Münstereifel on March 30, 1979. The teenager was last seen when she got into a light-colored car with an unknown person at the city park in Rheinbach on the evening of March 28.

Witnesses reported that the alleged driver of the same vehicle had previously harassed one of Wilbert's classmates. The investigators did not initially provide any further details about how the teenagers died in their appeal for witnesses.

The police are now also hoping for information from people who had similar negative experiences with a driver in the region in the late 1970s or early 1980s, or who know someone who had such experiences.
