WEBSTER, NY – First responders and a Good Samaritan helped rescue people trapped in their car after a series of flash floods in Webster Monday afternoon.

First Alert meteorologist Glenn Johnson spotted a car stuck between Route 250 and Holt Road. Webster Fire Department rescued people from the car thanks to the help of a man who said he had gone outside to move his car.

“Some people were trapped in their cars, so I thought this is not good,” said Connor Ambeau. “I saw a lot of people crowded together here. Nobody went to check if everything was OK, so I just ran over to see if everything was OK, but they had their engine running. You can't really leave your engine running because it will release carbon monoxide. I went over there, told them to turn off their car, and told my girlfriend to call the police and get some people over here.”

Ambeau waited for the police and fire department to make sure everyone in the car was okay and no one else was stuck.
