Accident in the Lincoln Tunnel: Traffic jam to Multica

WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (WABC) — A motorcycle accident in the Lincoln Tunnel has caused significant delays.

The accident in the westbound direction shortly after 4 a.m. in the central tube brought outbound traffic to a standstill for several hours. Outbound traffic has now resumed and is using the north tube.

Since the middle tube is out of service for the morning rush hour, all incoming traffic is diverted to the south tube.

There is an estimated delay of more than 120 minutes when entering New York City.

Heather O'Rourke has the latest traffic report.

Adding to the traffic problems, lanes on Route 3 in East Rutherford are closed in both directions.

A car has left the eastbound lane, closing one lane. Westbound Route 3 is closed due to an accident involving an ambulance.
