McDonald's is reportedly launching a Crocs Happy Meal

Although consumers across the country have bemoaned the rise in fast food prices in recent months, there is one category in which McDonald's has consistently managed to get customers to spend money: the Happy Meal. Because it comes in special packaging and includes an entree, side, drink, dessert and toy all in one, its presentation screams “value for money” to any bargain hunter. And the Internet hype machine has ensured that adults will pay $12 for, say, a Cactus Plant Flea Market box with a McDonald's figurine.

Hot on the heels of the Collector's Meal with nostalgic-style drinking cups, McDonald's is now reportedly adding another fun and eye-catching menu item to its range: the Crocs Happy Meal, which includes a miniature keychain in the shape of a Croc slip-on shoe.

This announcement has not yet come from McDonald's itself. Instagram account @snackolator posted the unconfirmed news with an image showing a Happy Meal box and 10 different miniature Crocs keychain designs, each of which is McDonald's-themed in some way. The so-called Crocs Clips feature images of the Golden Arches, French fries, Happy Meal boxes, McNuggets and similar symbols. “Each one comes in a cute little Crocs box,” the post's caption reads.

“Big heads up that designs (and quantity) may vary in the US, but the Happy Meal is definitely coming to the US,” writes @snackolator. The caption in the image simply reads, “Coming soon!”

McDonald's declined to comment on the possible upcoming release, but the Crocs Clips are already available in several other countries with Happy Meals. This TikTok video from Singapore, for example, shows an unboxing.

This isn't McDonald's first collaboration with the Crocs brand. Back in November 2023, the two giants announced a line of “clogs, sandals, charms and socks” that pay homage to some of McDonald's most iconic characters: Grimace, Birdie and Hamburglar – as well as a pair of shoes depicting the Golden Arches themselves, with Jibbitz in the shape of the most popular menu items. While a classic Crocs clog retails for $49.99, the souped-up McDonald's shoes cost between $70 and $75.

Some Instagram users commented under @snackolator’s post that unlike many popular Happy Meal toys of the past, there is no really obvious way to play with a Crocs keychain. This TikTok video shows a pad of stickers that you can attach to the keychains like Jibbitz charms on an actual Crocs shoe, which is admittedly a little interactive. Plus, you can apparently put them on your fingers and walk around with them, like the finger skateboards of old.
