“A lot will depend on Trubin” (September 10, 2024) — dynamo.kiev.ua

Former Dynamo goalkeeper Volodymyr Tsytykin, who later worked for a long time with Ukrainian national teams of all ages, shared his expectations for today's Nations League match between the Czech Republic and Ukraine:

Anatoly Trubin

“When I coached the junior and youth national teams of Ukraine, our paths often crossed with Czech colleagues who were distinguished by good training and high-quality game organization. In recent years, the Czechs have also improved their high-speed technique, which has allowed them to improve their results at the international level.

In my opinion, a lot will depend on how the Ukrainians play in defense today. The Czech national team has many tall players who are dangerous in standard positions. Unfortunately, our defenders cannot boast of reliability at the second level. We can only hope that Anatoliy Trubin will prove in Prague that he plays well not only on the goal line.

I think that there will be changes in the Ukrainian national team compared to the unsuccessful opening match against Albania. We can predict the appearance of Taras Stepanenko and Andriy Yarmolenko from the first minutes on the field. I think that Mykhailo Mudryk will come on as a substitute when his speed will bring more advantages. I tend to believe that our team will score a goal if only they can keep their goal in the net,” Tsytkin said.
