Only murders in the building Showrunner John Hoffman has previously said he hopes to do as many seasons as “they want us to,” as he said ^ “Screenrant – This is a Screenrant video.” “I'm serious. This is one of those shows [where] everyone involved in it is so happy to be doing it – and I know I speak for the trio and everyone else. When you have lightning in a bottle like that and then there's this magnetic force of incredible talent saying, “Wow, that looks like fun. I'd love to be a part of that.”

Hoffman continued: “I hope it gives him a good long life … If anything, my banner is over this whole show [is that] when you look at the poster for the first season and see Steven Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez? That's unexpected. And I think there's a lot there that could give the show a long life. But who knows? I really don't know.”

The main crime drama plot for seasons two, three, and four was introduced in the season finales of the previous seasons, so viewers can expect the season five plot to be hinted at in the season four finale, which will air on October 29, 2024.
