Taylor Swift's $248 Gingham Dress Is an Easy Fall Starter Outfit

Taylor Swift's gingham dress will shake up your fall wardrobe—in other words, it will make noise, but in the best way possible.

During a break from the Eras Tour and a Sunday without Kansas City Chiefs football, Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce shared plenty of sweet moments at the U.S. Open, which they attended on Sept. 8. While Kelce wore a Gucci hat and matching polo shirt, Swift dazzled in a $248 spaghetti strap dress from Reformation, a brand we already knew she was a fan of.

But instead of “plaid shirt days,” as she says in the 10-minute version of her song “All Too Well,” she presented us with another fall pattern, one that Reese Witherspoon wears: gingham. It was also very similar to Jennifer Garner's plaid shirt and also featured checkered patterns.

Swift put her own spin on Reformation's Sora linen dress: instead of wearing it off the shoulder, as she originally planned, she left the straps up, making it even more fall-like—off-the-shoulder dresses just aren't quite right for colder days. Straps at least protect you a little better from the cold.

The versatile red and white pattern could be worn to a Chiefs game or a holiday party next and is basically the fall equivalent of a floral in summer. Speaking of which, Jennifer Aniston wore the brand multiple times this past summer.

A longer length is important if you plan to wear a dress to outdoor festivities. The bust area here is smocked (as is the back of Swift's dress) and “eliminates the need for a bra,” according to one shopper. Oh, and if you buy it in blue, it works as a Halloween costume too. Just throw on red shoes and you can say you're Dorothy from The Wizard of OzAnd more importantly, you can wear it as usual the next day.
