Singapore Airlines was named Asia's Leading Airline at this year's World Travel Awards, beating 13 other nominees including Korean Air, Air China, Cathay Pacific and Vietnam Airlines.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Singapore’s national airline has won this title.

In addition to this highest award, Singapore Airlines was also voted “Asia’s Leading Airline – First Class” and “Asia’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean”.

Founded in 1972, Singapore Airlines has long earned a reputation for excellent safety, service and total customer satisfaction.

In July, the airline was named the most popular international airline by readers of American magazine Travel+Leisure at the World's Best Awards, praising its “excellent in-flight service and cabin comfort”.

Launched in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognise excellence in the travel and tourism industry and are often referred to as the 'Oscars of the travel industry'. These awards are decided by votes from both travel industry professionals and the general public.
