Fortnite V-Bucks will become more expensive in October 2024. The newly announced change affects Fortnite Players in half a dozen countries on three continents.

The price of the virtual currency used in Epic's hit battle royale shooter has been relatively stable since the game's early days. And while there have been some fluctuations over the years, these have usually been limited to specific platforms, countries, or both. In one of the most recent examples of this trend: FortniteV-Bucks were increased in price on PC and consoles in October 2023.

Fortnite announces price increase for V-Bucks by about 20% for 6 countries

A further price increase has now been announced for six countries on three continents. In a blog post on September 10, Epic announced that FortniteV-Bucks will soon become more expensive in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, Vietnam and the Philippines. Fortnite content packages are also getting more expensive

As part of this measure, Epic also plans to increase the price of Fortnite Content packs by a similar percentage. This change will be limited to the six countries mentioned above, with the developer noting that all future content packs will also be more expensive than their predecessors as a result of the adjustments. The Fortnite Crew subscription will not be affected by the upcoming wave of price increases.

Further Fortnite price increases are planned “around the world”

If Epic's previous price adjustments are any indication, these newly announced changes won't require the game to be taken offline for maintenance, as the developer can implement them server-side. The exact timing of when the new prices will go into effect on October 14 has not been announced, but Epic has said these won't be the last changes.
