Shannon Sharpe claims Instagram was hacked after explicit videos were streamed on her account

On Wednesday, a controversial video apparently showing a sexual act was streamed on Shannon Sharpe's Instagram account and caused a stir on social media.

The Hall of Fame tight end, now an ESPN personality, immediately denied any involvement and claimed his account had been hacked.

The video, which does not show Sharpe's face but includes audio of a woman moaning, quickly spread online before it was removed. Sharpe addressed the incident shortly afterward, warning his 3.2 million followers about the hack.

“Beware, my Instagram account @shannonsharpe84 was hacked this morning,” Sharpe posted, adding that his team was working to resolve the issue. The post was later deleted.

While it is unclear who was involved in the video, some viewers speculated that Sharpe's voice could be heard at one point.

Clips of the livestream circulated on X, formerly Twitter, and lasted about five minutes before being removed. Sharpe has firmly denied responsibility and attributed the incident to a cyberattack.
