Chloë Sevigny, Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne and others party for Myth Magazine during NYFW

The smell of cigarette smoke wafting down Sixth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night announced that the Myth Magazine party was about to take place. The venue, downtown's hip Holiday Bar, has been the site of many fashion parties since it opened several years ago — but the outdoor sidewalk patio that served as a smoking area was surely the reason for choosing this venue.

Myth Magazine's editor-in-chief, stylist Haley Wollens, and Chloë Sevigny, who needs no introduction, hosted a party to celebrate the magazine's launch. Slogans like “Fashion is a performance,” “Magazines are a myth,” and “I'm not like the other magazines” were displayed in the restaurant, where tables had been cleared to make room for dancing.

Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne, Coco Gordon Moore, Tyrell Hampton, Rebecca Dayan and Rowan Blanchard were in attendance, as was Wollens' mother and other members of the downtown and emerging downtown scene. Above us, 1980s synths mixed with 1990s hip-hop, glowing red electronic roses were scattered across the tables, and restaurant owner Kyle Hotchkiss Carone meandered through the room with a bottle of Body vodka.

“I think it's important to have a really epic New York magazine that captures what's happening on the streets in New York. New York fashion isn't really recognized in the broader sense,” Sevigny said of the magazine. “There's so much here, there's so much energy, so many cool kids, so inclusive and diverse, and I feel like the world doesn't really recognize New York in a really legitimate way, and Haley is trying to say, 'We need to be recognized.' Youth, the diversity, the sexiness, the energy, the fun, the humor. There's a lot of humor [in New York] and Haley has a great sense of humor and that's what the magazine is about.”
