Anitta sings “Paradise”, “Alegria” and “Savage Funk” at the MTV VMAs 2024

The medley included “Paradise,” “Alegria” and “Savage Funk,” fitting for a singer who is nominated for Best Latin Song for the third year in a row.

Anitta took to the MTV stage for the third time and played “Savage Funk” from her latest album Radio Generationand “Alegria,” a single featuring Tiago PZK and Emilia that was released in August. The singer also sang “Paradise” with Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Tiago PZK.

When “Paradise” ended, Fat Joe called Anitta the “Queen of Brazil,” and she proved his point by starting the second part of the performance, “Alegria.” The singer performed on a multi-tiered structure on the stage before falling to the floor in a dazzling choreography break, with a group of dancers following her. She closed the performance with “Savage Funk.”

Anitta is the first Brazilian to win a VMA trophy in 2022 and is also up for her third consecutive nomination for Best Latin, receiving a total of three nominations in that category this year, including two.

Last year, Anitta sang “Funk Rave” and “Used to Be” at the VMAs – and later joined Tomorrow X Together for a performance of their collaborative song “Back for More.”

Anitta has released her album Radio Generation on April 26th. Rolling Stone A review of the LP said the album “flourishes when Anitta takes risks,” and continued that the singer “has what it takes to pioneer the future of baile funk in pop and delight audiences both in Brazil and around the world.”
