That album spawned four top-five hits, including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Time After Time.” The kitschy, colorful-haired singer has won two Grammys and been nominated 16 times. She has since released ten more albums. She'll be in Nashville in November.

She was born Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper on June 22, 1953. In 2013, Lauper became the composer and lyricist of the successful Broadway musical Kinky boots, for which she won a Tony Award. Lauper is only one Oscar away from becoming one of the legendary EGOT winners (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony).

She is also an actress and has appeared in the film “The Goonies” and in television series such as “Bones,” “30 Rock,” “Young Sheldon” and “Mad About You.” Lauper has sold more than 50 million records throughout her career.

She appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek And People.
