Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum pranked Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams by offering him a cameo in his new children's book, “Baby Dunks-a-Lot.”

The book is about the title character, Baby Dunks-a-Lot, who throws the ball over a Williams lookalike.

Tatum presented the new book and Williams' cameo appearance during a book event in New York.

The book was published on September 10 by Abrams Books.

Tatum pointed out that the book also includes illustrated versions of LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat.

“Kudos to the guys who were able to participate,” Tatum said.

When asked what Tatum hopes to inspire readers with his book, the Celtics star replied: “Anything you dream of or want to do is possible with the love and support of the people around you. No one is successful alone and you can never dream too big.”

Tatum's dreams apparently revolved around making a dunk against Williams, who played parts of four seasons in Boston with the current Hornets forward.

Williams played a key role in the Celtics' reserves during his time in the city, including playing all 24 postseason games in 2022 and helping the team reach the NBA Finals.

Tatum called Williams is a “great teammate” after the forward reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Celtics before joining the Hornets via a sign-and-trade deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

Now it seems that the Celtics star will pen a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Williams' tenure in Boston to mark his team's championship win in 2024, marking his debut as a children's book author.
