More than 400,000 people without electricity in Louisiana and Mississippi

As Francine moves over New Orleans, numerous energy customers are without power.

According to PowerOutage.us, as of 4:30 a.m., more than 372,000 connections were down in Louisiana and nearly 30,000 in Mississippi. There are fears that this number could rise if the storm continues.
