Final trailer for “The Last Dance” released

Sony has just released the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance and in it, our protagonists Eddie and Venom meet the new guy in town, er, space enemy Knull; a beastly guy whose preferred fighting arena, as far as we can see, is on a jet. But don't say his name out loud, because like Beetlejuice, it's not supposed to be spoken.

“My home… has found us,” Venom warns Eddie.

“Who sent this thing?” asks Eddies.

“My creator,” Venom replies, “we have something he needs.”

Meanwhile, Juno Temple, as a scientist in the film, explains what it is all about: “The symbiotes did not come here by chance.”

Poison Franchise writer Kelly Marcel makes her directorial debut in a film she also produced and wrote.

There's a lot more out-of-control physical comedy in this film, with food being thrown around and Eddie's (Tom Hardy) erratic actions, which include punching a guy while he's peeing. As usual, Venom made him do it.

Image blurb: Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both their worlds and with the net tightening ever further, the duo is forced to make a devastating decision that will bring down the curtain on Venom and Eddie's final dance. Also starring: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham.

The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Marcel, Hardy and Hutch Parker.

The franchise has grossed $1.36 billion with two films so far. Clean-up is released in China, where the first film alone made $270 million. Sony announces it as the last title in the trilogy… until it makes a lot more money.

The third part of the Sony Marvel series will be released in cinemas on October 25th.
