Julie Chen Moonves returns to 'The Talk' for the first time since her 2018 exit; calls in to give Jerry O'Connell advice on hosting 'Big Brother'

Julie Chen Moonves back to The conversation for the first time since leaving the CBS daytime talk show in 2018.

The Big Brother The host called Jerry O'Connell to give him advice on hosting the reality competition since she was diagnosed with Covid and had to sit out the live taping on Thursday, September 12.

“Jerry, thanks for stepping in, you’re going to do a great job,” Moonves said The conversation co-host after she reported the symptoms she was experiencing due to Covid.

O'Connell predicted that the “houseguests are going to be super disappointed because I don't think they know you're not coming.”

“No, no, it's going to be so exciting because tonight's evictee is the first member of the jury,” said Chen Moonves.

Chen Moonves added that she had to give O'Connell “a very important tip for tonight.”

“Sheryl [Underwood] help him, because you know, Sheryl, you and I have worked together for eight years,” Chen Moonves continued. “When you go into my dressing room, go into the bathroom, there's a corset in the second drawer on the left. I'm telling you, Jerry, there's no way you're going to fit into my dress tonight.”

Chen Moonves then explained to O'Connell that putting on the corset was “a two-person job” and that getting into it was a “tug of war.”

“Don't let these ladies fool you. They're strong. You better hold on to a handrail,” joked Chen Moonves.

After sharing her tip Chen Moonves and O'Connell thanked everyone Speak Co-hosts by acknowledging each oneincluding Natalie Morales, Amanda Kloots, Underwood and Akbar Gbajabiamila.

In a statement on Instagram, Chen Moonves announced that she tested positive for Covid and will miss the live eviction episode of Big Brother on Thursday, September 12th.

“Friday morning I woke up with a sore throat and went to see my good friend who is an ENT doctor. That evening he called and said I had Covid,” Chen Moonves said in a statement shared on Instagram. “Luckily, this is only my second time and it was very mild! No fever and just a sore throat.”
