Drake apparently reacts to news about Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl performance

drake seems to have finally commented on the news that his arch enemy Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in 2025.

The Canadian rapper, 37, shared five photos of Lil Wayne via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, September 11, leading many fans to suspect that this was his not-so-subtle response to Lamar's new appearance.

If you are wondering what Wayne, 41, has to do with all this, then let Us Many fans – and artists – felt Wayne deserved to perform during halftime at Super Bowl LIX, which will be held in his hometown of New Orleans.

“As an entertainment ambassador for the city of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should also be part of this celebration,” Master P wrote on Instagram after 37-year-old Lamar was announced as the headliner. “He is one of the greatest Hop Hop [sic] Artists are still alive, are still relevant, and he is a native New Orleans native. Let's not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We must give our legends their flowers while they are here.”

Cam´ron And MassMeanwhile, spoke out on the Monday, Sept. 9, episode of her podcast. “Listen, I love Kendrick Lamar… I hate the selection,” said Cam'ron, 48. “It's in New Orleans and you don't get Lil Wayne? So that's what we're doing? You don't get Lil Wayne to the Super Bowl in New Orleans? … There's no reason why Lil Wayne shouldn't be at the Super Bowl.”

The “Hey Ma” rapper further theorized that Wayne was turned down because of his connection to Drake, who began his career on Wayne's record label Young Money.

“It's no real secret, Lil Wayne has had a problem before with someone who is part of the organization that runs this whole thing. This is the retaliation,” Cam'ron claimed. “Who is Lil Wayne's artist? Drake… Lil Wayne not performing at the Super Bowl in New Orleans is outrageous and it has to stop.”

Cam'ron was apparently referring to Wayne's alleged argument with Jay Zwho has been a co-producer of the halftime show since he began his partnership with the NFL in 2019. While the duo have had digs at each other over the years, they seemed to reconcile in 2015 when Jay-Z, 54, named Wayne co-owner of his streaming platform Tidal.

Other observers noted that Lamar's halftime performance came full circle, as Drake called himself “big like the Super Bowl” in his song “First Person Shooter” last year – and that track is where all the drama began.
