Vanessa Kirby from “Fantastic Four: First Steps” on filming the MCU movie: “We’re having a lot of fun” – News about comic book adaptations and superhero films

Vanessa Kirby says that everyone has a lot of fun filming The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Kirby plays Sue Storm in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four: First Steps, which began official production in late July. The film also stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival at the premiere of Ron Howard's “Eden,” in which Kirby stars alongside Jude Law and Sydney Sweeney, the “Mission: Impossible” star was asked about her experience so far filming the new MCU movie “Fantastic Four.”

What did Vanessa Kirby say about the production of Fantastic Four: First Steps?

“I just got off the set,” she said. “I'm flying back tonight in about two hours to be back on the set. It's pretty surreal. I love [Sue]”I love them so much. I love them in the comics, it's an honor to play them. I love Ebon, Joe and Pedro. We have a great time.”

She also said about working with Pascal: “He is everything. I love him. We have so much fun. I can't say enough great things about him.”

Directed by Matt Shakman, Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson as Galactus. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich and Natasha Lyonne have also been nominated for roles in yet-to-be-specified roles, while it is currently unclear whether Robert Downey Jr., who is now playing Victor von Doom after his time as Iron Man, will appear.

Plot details are still largely under wraps at this point, but it is known that the film will be a historical drama set in the 1960s. It will also take place in a different universe than Marvel's main reality.

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will be released in US theaters on July 25, 2025 as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
