Donald Trump promises to quickly deport migrants from Springfield

Donald Trump has announced that he will quickly deport migrants from Springfield, Ohio, a city at the center of the controversy over allegations that Haitians eat pets.

The Republican candidate said Springfield and Aurora, Colorado, which he claimed have been overrun by criminal gangs, would be at the top of the deportation list.

The plans are part of the largest mass deportation in the country's history, he told reporters at his golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

The former president made no move to back down from his claim that migrants ate pets in Springfield, despite accusations that his allegations sparked violence in the city.

He reiterated his claim that the migrants were causing devastating damage.

“In Springfield, Ohio, 20,000 illegal immigrants have entered a city of 58,000 people,” he said.

“They destroyed the place and people don't like to talk about it because even the city doesn't like to talk about it because it sounds so bad for the city,” he added.

“We're going to do major deportations from Springfield, Ohio, major deportations. We're going to get these people out. We're going to take them back to Venezuela.”

It is unclear why Trump mentioned Venezuela if the migrants in Springfield are from Haiti.

Trump added that he hoped to visit both cities during his campaign.
