Camie, wife of MAGA Rep. Mark Green, tells lawmakers he had an affair with a 32-year-old

The wife of Tennessee Rep. Mark Green accused the highest-ranking Republican of having an affair in a text message exchange with his colleagues on Wednesday.

Green, 59, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, filed for divorce last month from his wife of 30 years, Camilla “Camie” Green. New York Post Camie claimed that the impetus for his application was the congressman's “affair with a 32-year-old woman.”

“I offered a reconciliation but he doesn't want any of it and insists on a divorce,” Camie reportedly wrote in text messages. post reported that Camie also forwarded her allegations in an email to Capitol lawmakers.

“I am speaking openly about this because 1) I appreciate the prayers of anyone who is willing to offer them, and 2) I want to make others aware of how easy it is for our husbands to access 'Predators,'” Camie is said to have written.

Camie went on to attack the congressmen for being “intoxicated by power and worship.” That was what caused Green to “push God out of his life, push me out of his life,” she claimed, adding that he “made friends with other congressmen and women who were having affairs and getting divorced, drinking, partying, while he hosted a weekly Bible study in the basement of our house.”

“I'm still praying for him… but my hope is fading. He no longer wears his wedding ring and his will is buried,” she added. “If my story can prevent this tragedy from happening to someone else, I will tell it.”

Green responded to the news in a statement released Friday, acknowledging that it was “a difficult time for my family and me,” the Daily Mail.

“We are currently going through divorce proceedings,” Green said. “As this is a very private matter, I ask for privacy. I will continue to serve this district with everything I have, just as I have for the past five and a half years.”

In her letter, Camie also claimed that Green had an affair with a political reporter – and named the journalist's employers. However, in a cease-and-desist letter from the news channel's legal counsel, these claims were dismissed as “false and inherently defamatory.”

“Your message not only caused this reporter significant emotional distress, but also damaged her professional reputation,” wrote Content Counsel Brian Westley, as the post“We therefore insist that you correct the matter immediately.”

(Camie later did so in a statement to POLITICO, saying she wanted to “set the record straight” and regretted her mistake. The woman Green cheated on her with also spoke anonymously to POLITICO, describing their relationship as “on and off.”)

Green cited “irreconcilable differences” as his reason for filing for divorce. After announcing his plans to retire this year, he changed course after Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, encouraged him to stay in Congress.
