Red Bull returns to NASCAR in a big way with the signing of a young star

Red Bull celebrates a brilliant return to NASCAR and announces the signing of 18-year-old racing talent Connor Zilisch.

Connor Zilisch is widely regarded as one of NASCAR's most promising young talents and is understandably excited about the support of the energy drink giant.

“I'm thrilled to be joining the Red Bull family as a Red Bull athlete. This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid and I couldn't be more excited. Let's go,” the young driver said on his social media channels.

Zilisch currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series under Spire Motorsports and the ARCA Menards Series with Pinnacle Racing Group.

An important aspect of Zilisch's professional career is his development contract with Trackhouse Racing. Trackhouse Racing, owned by Justin Marks and Grammy-winning Pitbull, is a major player in the NASCAR ecosystem. This development contract should provide Zilisch with ample opportunity to hone his craft and gain valuable experience in various racing disciplines.

In a turning point in his career, Zilisch is set to make his highly anticipated Xfinity Series debut this Saturday at Watkins Glen. To further cement his rise in the racing world, JR Motorsports has announced that Zilisch will compete full-time in the Xfinity Series starting in 2025, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet. He is scheduled to compete in four races this season before moving full-time next year.

The driver's early career is awash with success, with him securing a string of victories before his 18th birthday, including triumphs in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Additionally, he has demonstrated his dominance in the ARCA Menards Series and earned a win in the zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour. It would be difficult not to see the tremendous potential this driver has.

The importance of Red Bull's return to NASCAR cannot be overstated. Their history in the sport stretches back to their previous involvement in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which they left in 2011. By signing Zilisch, Red Bull reaffirms its commitment to supporting up-and-coming talent while also returning to the NASCAR coliseum.

Zilisch now joins an illustrious group of Red Bull athletes that also includes Shane Van Gisbergen, Scott Speed, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Mattias Ekström and Broc Feeny. Red Bull is active in numerous motorsport disciplines around the world and has had above-average success in them. Zilisch's renewed involvement with NASCAR is a strong signal for the sport.
